Best Outdoor Vacations Spots
Description: The outdoors beckons a lot of people especially those on vacation and here is a list of some of the best outdoor vacation spots you just have to try.
Just because you might be a little tight on your budget it doesn't mean you can't take your family out on some great outdoor vacation spots. The US is littered with a lot of fun places that won't lock you inside a hotel or keep you in a theme park. You'll be able to pack your bags, camp out, and enjoy the wild life without having to spend too much. After all, some of the best things in life are for free and so are the outdoors. Just take a moment to consider these three “must-see” outdoor vacation locations.
Outdoor Vacation Spot #1: The Grand Canyon
Nothing sounds more like an outdoor top us vacation spots adventure than the Grand Canyon. As you would expect the majority of the Grand Canyon is a dry, rocky desert with high cliffs and a rugged wasteland but the intense heights and ancient rock structures make for a great expedition. Add in one of the world's most beautiful falls and oasis and you get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for kayaking, rafting, and camping. There's also the Grand Canyon Railway and the recently constructed walkway that allows to peer down the immense heights of the canyon.
The south end of the Canyon can be a bit costly but this is because there are a lot of casual accommodations such as hotels, souvenir shops, and whatnot. If you go for the north ridge it may seem a bit more difficult to traverse but it is a good camping and hiking area, especially if you're a little bit on a tight budget.
Outdoor Vacation Spot #2: Yosemite
Yosemite is a paradise close to home. Remarkably you'll find that San Francisco is just a short drive away so if you want to explore the outdoors without really leaving the comforts of the city, you can. If on the other hand you want to keep clear of the high costs of hotel accommodations then all you need to do is pack a tent because Yosemite National Park has a lot of camping grounds, hiking trails, and others. A famous favorite are the underground caves. You can enjoy mountain climbing, river rafting, game trails, and natural wonders all for a very minimal entrance fee plus there is the exceptional group of park rangers to guide you through.
Outdoor Vacation Spot #3: Yellowstone
When people speak of outdoor vacation spots they often think of Yellowstone. It always pops up whenever the topic is discussed and this is all for good reason too. Yellowstone is a favorite because it is very affordable and it boasts a lot of natural wonders. You could visit the numerous geysers such as Old Faithful or take a trip through the natural hot springs, rock formations, and forest grounds. Do beware though because there are also wild grizzly bears – which make for one really fun and exciting trip!
The only downside to Yellowstone is that Yosemite and the Grand Canyon can offer the same thing for a slightly lower budget. Yosemite is also closer to a city (San Francisco) which makes it more ideal to visit if you aren't so keen on camping outdoors.
